Scholarship Program
LLI/NOVA’s Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to outstanding students at Northern Virginia Community College’s Annandale Campus. Since 1999, LLI/NOVA members have supported students through academic and leadership scholarships in partnership with the NOVA Foundation.
Academic and leadership scholarships
LLI/NOVA awards two types of scholarships to students at NOVA’s Annandale Campus: leadership scholarships and academic scholarships.
Leadership scholarships
Leadership scholarships recognize outstanding student leaders who foster unity across NOVA’s diverse, multicultural student body and serve their communities.
Knox Singleton Leadership Scholarship
Recognizes exceptionally qualified students who demonstrate superior leadership motivation, skill, activity, and results.
Academic scholarships
Academic scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate both academic merit and financial need.
Lorin Goodrich Academic Scholarship
Recognizes a student who demonstrates unusual academic achievement as evidenced by grades.
How scholarships are awarded
LLI/NOVA scholarships are awarded to NOVA Annandale students following their first year. Scholarship funds are deposited directly into recipients’ college accounts and may be used for tuition and books during their second year.

Scholarship Committee
LLI/NOVA’s Scholarship Committee coordinates the scholarship program with the NOVA Foundation, supports fundraising efforts, and helps establish the number, amount and selection criteria for scholarship awards.
