The speaker will be Earnest W. Porta, Jr., the mayor of Occoquan, Virginia. He will talk about interesting historical episodes in the over 200 years history of the town. These include major events in Occoquan leading to enactment of the 19th Amendment giving women the right to vote and the evacuation of most of the population when Hurricane Isabel hit.
