Accotink Unitarian Universalist Church

Directions from the Braddock Road exit, I-495:

Go west on Braddock Road about 1.6 miles. Turn left on Burke Lake Road at Kings Park Shopping Center and go about 3.9 miles.  Just past the light at the Fairfax County Parkway, turn left onto Lakehaven Lane, then a slight right onto Lakehaven Court. Turn into the church parking lot on your right.

Annandale United Methodist Church

6935 Columbia Pike, Annandale.

Directions from the Little River Turnpike exit, I-495:

Drive east on Little River Turnpike (Route 236). Proceed through 5 traffic lights and get into the left lane. At the next traffic light (Backlick Road), take a left onto Backlick Road and bear right immediately. You will go only a short block and after passing a Jiffy Lube, turn right onto Columbia Pike. Drive just beyond the second traffic light (Gallows Road) and turn right into the parking lot. Enter the brick church through the main entrance and look for signs.

Braddock District Government Center

9002 Burke Lake Road, Burke.

Directions from the Braddock Road exit, I-495

Also known as the Braddock District Supervisor’s Office. Go west on Braddock Road about 1.6 miles. Turn left onto Burke Lake Road at Kings Park Shopping Center. The Government Center is in the same building as the Kings Park Library just past Rolling Road on the right past the bank.  Turn right into the parking lot.

Brightview Fair Oaks

Directions from NOVA Annandale campus

Go west on Little River Turnpike (RT 236) through the Fairfax City to the intersection with Lee Highway (RT 29), approximately 4.8 miles. Turn left (west) onto Lee Highway. Continue on Lee Highway for 3.7 miles past Fairfax County Parkway and past Brightview (visible on the left) to Willowmeade Dr. Use the left-hand turn lane and median crossing at Willowmeade Dr. to make a U-turn on Lee Highway back to Cruz Dr, and the entrance for Brightview.

Directions from the Braddock Road exit, I-495

Go west on Braddock Road about 1.6 miles. Turn left onto Burke Lake Road at Kings Park Shopping Center.  Go about 3.6 miles to the light at Fairfax County Parkway (Route 286).  Turn right onto the parkway and go about 1.4 miles to Freds Oak Rd.  Turn right and go about .1 miles to the parking lot entrance on your right.

Burke Presbyterian Church

5690 Oak Leather Drive, Burke (intersection of Oak Leather Drive and the Burke Centre Parkway).

Directions from Braddock Road exit, I-495:

Go west on Braddock Road about 1.7 miles. Turn left on Burke Lake Road at Kings Park Shopping Center.  Continue about 2.5 miles and turn right on Burke Center Parkway. Go about 2.3 miles and turn right onto Oak leather Drive, where you’ll see the sign for Burke Presbyterian Church on the corner. The entrance is the second drive (at the enter sign). Park toward the main building and enter through the central church doors.

Confucius Institute at George Mason University

4400 University Drive, MS-6D9, East Building, Room 129, Fairfax

Directions from Rt 123, Braddock Road:

From Braddock Road, go north on Ox Road (Route 123) to University Drive.  Go east on University Drive to George Mason Boulevard.  If you use GPS, you can enter the destination as “Rappahannock River Parking Deck” (not garage) at GMU and it will display the deck and the location of the East Building and will direct you to the garage.  The entrance is on the right just past Rappahannock River Lane.  Use the first entrance to “Visitor Parking” on the lowest level.  DO NOT ENTER THROUGH THE PERMIT PARKING ENTRANCE.  Note your parking spot number and enter it with your payment in the parking kiosk near the garage entrance.  Parking is $3/hour.  Make sure you pay for sufficient time for your stay to avoid a parking ticket.  It is a 5-minute walk to the East Building.  When you exit the garage through the south entrance (Patriot Circle) turn right and go to Chesapeake River Lane.  The East Building is in the quad to the southwest of that intersection.

Directions from the Little River Turnpike exit, I-495:

Proceed west on Little River Turnpike to Orchard Street (3.0 miles west of the Little River Turnpike/Wakefield Chapel Road intersection at NOVA) and make a U-turn back onto Little River Turnpike headed eastbound (because of the divided roadway). After making the turn, go .2 miles and turn right into the FA Design Build/Flooring America showroom parking lot, where there is plenty of free parking.

From NOVA Annandale parking lot, turn right onto Wakefield Chapel Road and go to the light at the intersection with Little River Turnpike.  Turn left onto Little River Turnpike and go about 3.7 miles.to University Drive.  The Old Town Hall is the white building to the right on the corner.  Free parking is available in the garage at 3950 University Drive and on the corner of Old Lee Highway and 236 and Old Lee Highway and North Street.

From NOVA Annandale parking lot, turn right onto Wakefield Chapel Road and go to the light at the intersection with Little River Turnpike.  Turn left onto Little River Turnpike and go about 3.6 miles.to University Drive.  Turn right on University and follow it to Layton Hall Drive.  Turn right on Layton Hall Drive to Old Lee Highway and turn right again.  Turn right into the parking lot at the library.

Directions from the Little River Turnpike exit, I-495

Go east on Little River Turnpike/Route 236 to the first light.  Turn left onto Hummer Road. Go about .3 miles and turn left into the driveway to the Annandale Community Park. There is a large brown sign that says Packard Center.  Follow the road to the right, up a hill to a parking lot in front of the Packard Center, which is a red brick building that looks like a house.  The Artisans United Craft Gallery is in the lobby. Go straight through the craft gallery and down the hall to reach the large conference room on your right.

Goodwin House

3440 South Jefferson Street, Falls Church.

Directions from Bailey’s Crossroads (intersection of Columbia Pike and Leesburg Pike/Route 7:

Go east on Leesburg Pike/Route 7. Turn left at the traffic light at South Jefferson Street. South Jefferson is located between two shopping centers, “Crossroads Place” and “Leesburg Pike Plaza.” As a landmark, look for the Olive Garden restaurant on your left as you turn onto South Jefferson.  Follow South Jefferson Street. Go through one traffic light, and go to the Goodwin House entry driveway. Go to the right and follow the circular drive back toward the left.  A number of visitors’ and handicapped parking spots are available there; a larger number are available along the side of the building.

Green Spring Gardens

4603 Greenspring Road, Alexandria (entrance on Witch Hazel Road).

Directions from the Little River Turnpike exit, I-495:

Go east on Little River Turnpike (Route 236) about 3.5 miles and turn left at the light onto Braddock Road.  Pass Pinecrest Shopping Center and Pinecrest Office Park on your right. Stay in the right hand lane and turn right onto Witch Hazel Road. Witch Hazel Road is the entrance to Green Spring Gardens. Follow the road to the parking lot.

Greenspring Village – Theater, Accotink Room & Conference Center

7440 Spring Village Drive, Springfield.

Directions from Franconia-Springfield Parkway:

Greenspring Village is located off the Franconia Springfield Parkway (Route 289) about .5 miles west of I-495.  From the parkway, go north on Spring Village Drive and proceed straight ahead to the Greenspring entrance.  Advise the guard station attendant that you are going to attend a “Lifetime Learning Institute” class. You will receive a visitor’s pass.

Follow signs to either Village Square or Conference Center.  You will need to sign the guest register at the reception desk for either location.  The receptionist will give you directions to your classroom.

  • Village Square Theater & Accotink Room – turn right at the second stop sign.  As you proceed down the hill to the Village Square, Parking Lot K will be on your left.  Ignore the “Residents Only” sign. You may park in any space that does not have a red stripe.  You may also park in any green space in Parking Lots I and J.  The Theater and the Accotink Room are both one level below the lobby.  The Accotink Room is across the hall from the Theater.
  •  Conference Center – veer left at the second stop sign.  Hunters Crossing is the building with the canopy.  There is a large parking lot in front of the building.  You may park in any green striped space. The Conference Center is one level below the lobby.

Hillwood Museum

4155 Linnean Avenue, N.W., Washington, DC.

Directions from the Connecticut Avenue (MD-185) exit south, I-495:

Proceed about 5 miles south on Connecticut Avenue and turn left onto Tilden Street. Take the second left onto Linnean Avenue. The entrance to the estate will be on the right. There is a small parking lot at the entrance.

Directions by Metro:

Hillwood Museum is a 15-20 minute walk from the Van Ness/UDC Metro station on the Red Line. From the Metro, exit on the east side of Connecticut Avenue, walk south on Connecticut toward Van Ness Auto Care, and turn left onto Upton Street. Turn right onto Linnean Avenue. The entrance to the estate will be on the left.

James Lee Community Center

2855 Annandale Road, Falls Church.

Directions from the Arlington Boulevard (Route 50) exit, I-495:

Take Arlington Boulevard (Route 50) east toward Falls Church to Annandale Road. Turn left on Annandale Road (going toward the center of Falls Church) to the traffic light at James Lee Street. Turn right into the parking lot. Please enter the building on the parking lot side and take an immediate right to the classrooms.

Directions from the Franconia-Springfield exit, 1-95, I-395 & I-495:

Head east on Franconia Road. Two traffic lights past Van Dorn Street turn right on Rose Hill Drive.  The library is on the left just beyond the Rose Hill Shopping Center.

Go south on Van Dorn Street. Turn right on Franconia Road. Go two traffic lights and turn left on Rose Hill Drive. The library is on the left just beyond the Rose Hill Shopping Center.

Directions from Little River Turnpike exit, I-395

Go west on Little River Turnpike (Route 236) toward Lincolnia. Turn right at N. Beauregard Street followed by an immediate left onto N. Chambliss Steet and another immediate left into the Senior Center’s parking lot.  Use entrance D4 on the right side of the building.

Turn left at the first traffic at Lake Drive light and follow the road to the church parking lot.

Mason District Governmental Center

Directions from the Little River Turnpike exit, I-495:

Drive east on Little River Turnpike (Route 236). Proceed through 5 traffic lights and get into the left lane. At the next traffic light (Backlick Road), take a left onto Backlick Road and bear right immediately. Only a short block later and after passing a Jiffy Lube, turn right onto Columbia Pike.  Proceed through several lights.  Go through the light at the intersection with Whispering Lane and turn right a short distance later into the parking lot at the Center. Note: the entrance is at a curve in the road and is hard to see until you are on top of it.

Meadowlark Botanical Gardens

9750 Meadowlark Gardens Court, Vienna.

Directions from the Route 123 exit, I-495:

Go south on Route 123 towards Vienna.  Proceed to the third traffic signal and turn right onto Gallows Road, then move immediately into the left turn lane. At the traffic light, turn left onto Old Courthouse Road and proceed until it intersects with Beulah Road, which joins from the left. Proceed straight through this intersection on what is now Beulah Road (even though you kept straight) until you reach Meadowlark Gardens (and Meadowlark Gardens Court) on your left. Turn into the Court and you will find parking on your left.

  • Paid parking is available in the parking garage (Building CP) next to the Ernst Cultural Center (Building CE).
  • Parking for Disabled/Handicapped Persons:  Vehicles with valid, DMV issued plates or placards may park in any permit space located in an “A” or “B” lot or any designated handicap parking space on campus.  NVCC does not issue its own special permits for using these spaces.

NOVA Ernst Community Cultural Center (CE), also called the NOVA Cultural Center, Annandale Campus, building marked “CE” on the map. The Forum is the large open space (with fireplace) on the mezzanine level. Seminar rooms are on the mezzanine level adjacent to the Forum. The Dance Room is located on the first floor behind the elevator.

NOVA CT/TV Tech (CT) Building, Computer Lab, is the building marked “CT” on the map.

  • To Reach Room CT-131 by stairs,turn left after entering the building, walk to the end of the corridor and take the stairs on the left side of the corridor. Turn right at the bottom of the stairs to CT-131 which is on the right side of the corridor.
  • To reach Room CT-131 by elevator: turn right after entering the building, walk to the end of the corridor, and turn left. The elevator is on the right immediately after entering this corridor. Upon exiting the elevator, turn left and then right to CT-131 which will be on the left side of the corridor.
  • To reach Room CT-138 by stairs: turn right after entering the building, walk to the end of the corridor, turn left and walk to the end of this corridor. Turn left and you will immediately see the stairs on the right side of the corridor. Turn left at the bottom of the stairs and take an immediate right. Room CT-138 is the first door on the right side of the corridor.
  • To reach Room CT-138 by elevator: turn right after entering the building, walk to the end of the corridor, and turn left. The elevator is on the right immediately after entering this corridor. Upon exiting the elevator, turn right to Room CT-138 which is on the left side of the corridor.

  • To reach Room 105, 117, &123 from Level 3 of the Parking Garage (marked “CP” on the map), exit the parking garage toward the upper level of the campus; walk to the first building on the right, which is the CN building. Enter the CN building and take the stairs down to the first level.
  • To reach Room 219 from Level 3 of the Parking Garage (marked “CP” on the map), exit the parking garage toward the upper level of the campus; walk to the first building on the right, which is the CN building. Enter the CN building and walk to the end of the corridor and turn left. Room 219 is the first classroom on the left.

NOVA Student Services Building (CA), marked CA on the map.

  • To reach Room 302, park on Level 3 of the Parking Garage (marked “CP” on the map), exit the parking garage toward the upper level of the campus; walk through the first building on the right, which is the CN building, and continue past the Ernst Center (CE), the McDiarmid Building (CM), to the entrance to the CA building.  Room 302 is the first room on the right.

NOVA Food Service Building (CF), marked “CF” on the map.

NOVA Founders Hall Building (CFH), marked “CFH” on the map.  The LLI/NOVA office is in the CFH building, room 216.

NOVA Shuler/Science Building (CS), marked “CS” on the map.

  • It is recommended that you park on Level 3 of the parking garage. After exiting the garage at Level 3, walk straight ahead past the CN (Nursing) Building to the main entrance of the CS Building where there is a lobby. The rooms at this level are in the 200 series. The classrooms assigned to LLI/NOVA are in the 100 series and are down one level.

  • Park on Level 3 of the Parking Garage (marked “CP” on the map), exit the parking garage toward the upper level of the campus; walk through the first building on the right, which is the CN building, and continue past the Ernst Center (CE) to the McDiarmid Building (CM).

Parkwood Baptist Church

8726 Braddock Road, Annandale.

Directions from the Braddock Road exit. I-495:

Go west on Braddock Road about 1.7 miles. The church is on your right just before Woodland Way and Kings Park Shopping Center.  The entrance to the church property off Braddock Road is almost directly across the road from the entrance to Burke Lake Road at the Kings Park Shopping Center. Drive around the parking lot toward the back of the church, passing the canopy entrance on your right. Enter the church through the back door on the ground level.

Go north on Nutley Street to Maple Avenue West.  Turn right on Maple Avenue.  The library is on the right just past Center Street.

Directions from the Braddock Road exit, I-495

Go west on Braddock Road about 1.6 miles. Turn left onto Burke Lake Road at Kings Park Shopping Center.  Go about 2.2 miles to the light at Shiplett Boulevard.  Turn left onto Shiplett Boulevard and continue to the end of the street.  Turn right onto Old Keene Mill Road, then left at the first light onto Sydenstricker Road.  The library and parking are on your right.

Sky Meadows State Park

The park is less than two miles south of Paris, Va., via U.S. Route 50 to Route 17 South; or seven miles north of I-66, Exit 23 on Route 17 North. The park’s main entrance is on State Route 710.  We will meet at the Visitor’s Center.

Spring Hill Club House

8946 Yellow Daisy Place, Lorton.

Directions from the Lorton exit. I-95:

Go east on Lorton Road to the first traffic light—a very short distance.  Turn right into Silverbrook Road at the light.  Continue on Silverbrook to the next traffic light and turn left onto Laurel Crest Drive. Turn left onto Mountain Larkspur Drive (about 500 feet).  At this point, there is a gate. Enter through the gate. Go to the second street, Turn right. Go one block to the Club House, just past the stop sign.  NOTE:  THE GATE TO THE CLUBHOUSE WILL NOT BE OPEN UNTIL 1/2 HOUR BEFORE THE BEGINNING OF CLASS AND WILL REMAIN OPEN FOR ONLY ONE HOUR AFTER THE CLASS..

Directions from the Fairfax County Parkway (Route 286):

From the Parkway, take the Hooes Road South exit. Go about 1.3 miles and turn left at the second traffic light onto Silverbrook Road.  Continue on Silverbrook to the next traffic light and turn right onto Laurel Crest Drive just past the South County High School.  Turn left onto Mountain Larkspur Drive (about 500 feet). Follow the gate instructions above.

St. Matthew’s United Methodist Church

8617 Little River Turnpike, Annandale.

Directions from the Little River Turnpike exit, I-495:

Drive west on Little River Turnpike (Route 236). Pass the NOVA campus and Wakefield Chapel Road (second and third traffic lights). Take the next left (which does not have a traffic light) onto Wakefield Drive.  Immediately turn right into the church parking lot.

Classroom: Enter the classroom on the far left-hand side of the building through a basement door. If this side basement door is not yet open, enter the church through the main doors in the center. Follow the signs to the main church office. Right before the office is a stairwell on your left. You need to open the door to see the stairwell. Walk down one level and the classroom is a few feet from the foot of the stairs.

The Virginian

Directions from the Little River Turnpike (Route 236 exit, I-495:

Drive west on Little River Turnpike to Pickett Road. Turn right on Pickett Road and drive to Arlington Boulevard. Turn right onto Arlington Boulevard and then turn right at the first traffic light which will take you into The Virginian’s driveway. Parking is permitted in any vacant slot that is not designated as handicapped or employee parking.

The Woodlands

4320 Forest Hill Drive, Fairfax.

Directions from the Braddock Road exit, I-495:

Take Braddock Road west approximately 7 miles to Shirley Gate Road (Route 655). Turn right onto Shirley Gate Road and proceed to the first traffic light at Lee Highway. Turn left onto Lee Highway and then turn left at the next traffic light (Forest Hill Road). Continue to the second entrance on your right at The Woodlands sign.   NOTE: Parking is permitted at The Woodlands as well as at the first building, The Gardens, next door. If both parking lots are full, street parking is permitted on Forest Hill Drive.

Directions from Arlington Boulevard exit, I-495:

Go East on Arlington Boulevard (Route 50) to the second traffic light.  Turn right onto Allen Street and then make an immediate right turn onto the Arlington Boulevard service road.  Take the first left into the parking lot.

West Springfield Government Center

6140 Rolling Road, Springfield.

Directions from Braddock Road exit, I-495:

Take Braddock Road (VA-62).west about 1.7 miles and turn left at the traffic light onto Rolling Road (VA-638S).. Go 2.2 miles on Rolling Road (past West Springfield High School on the right) and turn into the Center immediately before the post office on the right.  Park on the side of the building or in the large lot behind the building.  The Community Room (Room 200) is to the right once you enter the front of the building.

Workhouse Arts Center

9601 Ox Road, Lorton, VA.

Directions from Route 123 exit, I-95:

Go north on Route 123 toward Occoquan/Lake Ridge.  Continue on Route 123 for approximately 2 miles.  The Workhouse Arts Center is on your right.  Once inside the compound, Building W-16 (Main Galler) is the only 2 story building on the complex.  Building 6 is next to W-16.  Classes in Bldg. 6 are in Room 606-B.  You can park anywhere around either building.
