Study/Travel Committee

Welcome to the Study/Travel Committee!

The Study/Travel Committee is a small working committee that manages LLI’s Study/Travel Program throughout the year. The Committee members:

  • Manage the trip selection process;
  • Negotiate with the tour provider or travel agent to finalize tour dates, itineraries, options, fees, and registration procedures;
  • Monitor member registration and assist in the resolution of travel issues with the vendor;
  • Lead the trip (i.e., serve as the LLI/NOVA group point of contact with the travel vendor); and
  • The Study Subcommittee develops, and often conducts, the Study program for the selected travel, and as appropriate may coordinate with the Curriculum Committee for inclusion of our Study/Travel class in the appropriate class catalog.

Usual Meeting Dates & Times

The Study/Travel Committee meets on an Ad Hoc/as-needed basis.

Cancellation Policy

The Study/Travel Committee normally follows the LLI/NOVA inclement weather cancellation policy (see button at right), unless members are notified otherwise by the Chairperson.

Study Subcommittee

The Study Subcommittee focuses on the study part of the program, which includes travel destination study classes prior to travel. The Chair position for this Subcommittee is currently vacant.
