25th Anniversary Proclamation
Thursday morning, May 6, Anna Dixon, President, LLI/NOVA, Officers and members of our Board of Directors, and Bonnie Hopler, Chair, 25th Anniversary Committee and members of her 25th Anniversary Committee participated in a virtual meeting with two members of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors.
The Supervisors presented LLI/NOVA with a congratulatory silver anniversary Proclamation proclaiming May 4, 2021, as Lifetime Learning Institute NOVA Day. This was the County’s formal recognition of LLI/NOVA’s 25 years of serving seniors in Fairfax County. Supervisor James Walkinshaw (Braddock District – home to our NOVA campus) and Supervisor Penny Gross (Mason District and Vice Chairman of the Board) represented the Board and made the presentation. Supervisor Gross presented LLI/NOVA with a similar Proclamation at our 10th Anniversary celebration luncheon in May 2006.
Later that day, the LLI/NOVA members met in person with Supervisor Walkinshaw, Braddock District, at his office in Burke, for the physical presentation of the Proclamation to Anna Dixon and for photographs. Attendees included:
- Anna Dixon and past LLI/NOVA Presidents Ed McKnight, Lorin Goodrich, and Paul Hopler.
- Present, past, and future members of the Board of Directors including Fritz Ernst, Nan Peck, Carol Fagnani, Dick Robison, Dick Martin, and Bob Huley.
- Some of the members of the 25th Anniversary Planning Team: Bonnie Hopler, Chair, Bob Huley, Carol Fagnani, Dick Martin, and Betsy Pugin.
